The Space
As you enter on the ground floor, you pass through a small hallway to the large airy living area with two well-sized and comfortable sofas, a flat-screen TV, a dining table for 6, and floor-to-ceiling patio doors that lead out to the poolside terrace where you can enjoy uninterrupted picturesque views of the cultivated fields of orange and lemon groves with the Silves castle as the dramatic backdrop. In the evening this view is particularly spectacular as the castle is lit up in colourful lights.
Soak up the intense Algarvian sun while lounging on the poolside sunbeds. Families with small children will be pleased to note that there is a gate between the upper terrace and lower pool to keep little ones safe. There is also an outdoor shower by the pool to rinse off between tanning and swimming!
Back inside the house, for those who enjoy cooking, the spacious kitchen is fully functional and extremely stylish. It is fully equipped with all the modern-day essentials, including a washing machine with a 14-minute fast wash (perfect for families with young children!), a capsulated coffee machine, an electric stovetop and a convection oven. An outdoor patio area off the kitchen features a built-in BBQ and 6 seater circular dining table. Perfect for those warm Algarvian evenings! Silves has several supermarkets, the nearest being a 10 to 15-minute walk away, where you will find all the ingredients you need to cook up a feast.
This beautiful and comfortable townhouse is a pleasant alternative to your typical holiday resort. With easy access to routes to larger cities, this is the perfect home for a tranquil holiday with the option of exploring further. Thanks to the air conditioning, wood burner and heaters throughout the house, it is comfortable in any season. Pool heating can be provided at an additional cost if required, please ask for details.
The Location
The townhouse is surprisingly close to amenities including fabulous restaurants, two local supermarkets, and Silves medieval town just 20 minutes on foot. However, if you wish to explore the Western Algarve by car, Silves is perfectly placed between the lively Albufeira ‘Strip’ and the trendy city of Portimão with its award-winning beaches, and the breathtaking serene mountains of Monchique.
Silves is the former capital of the Algarve and is of great historical importance. The town is a joy to explore and has a distinctly Portuguese ambience, with open-air cafés, cobblestone streets, and an infectious relaxed pace of life. Silves Castle (Castelo dos Mouros, Moorish Castle) is located on the top of the hill and can be seen from the property. The Castle is open to the public for less than 3€ per person.
Other sites of note in the town include parts of the old city walls, attractive churches, an archaeological museum, and the Silves Cathedral, a former mosque that is now on the Portuguese register of national monuments. Surrounding the town are valleys full of orange groves. Don't miss the annual medieval festival which is definitely a must-see!

Getting around
Getting around by car is ideal at this location as it's quite a walk to downtown Silves. Uber is always an option for those who prefer not to drive themselves.

SEF Requirements
All property owners in Portugal are legally required to report tourist and guest information to the Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF). At the time of booking, we will send you a blank SEF form that you must complete and return to us prior to your arrival. This is a mandatory requirement.
Other things to note
A refundable deposit of €350 is required in cash upon arrival or paid via PayPal. The deposit will be refunded within 7 days after check-out upon a satisfactory inspection and using the same payment method.
